I had a phone line installed in my new apartment today. Within two hours of plugging in my telephone, I received my first phone call… from a goddammed computer with “an offer for recipients of Medicare”.
WHAT?? I’m twenty-fucking-eight, for Christ’s sake! What makes you think that I’m a recipient of Medicare??
My new phone number went on the National Do-Not-Call Registry five minutes later. God Damn telemarketers.
I wish we have “Do-not-call registry” here. I keep getting those call on my cell phone.

Telemarketing calls to cel phones are generally illegal in the US, since it costs the recipient to receive the advertising. Landlines, however, are fair game.
The do-not-call registry is relatively new, and has proven to be extremely popular with the public — for good reason!
